Morning!! How quick is this week going?! How is it Wednesday (and day 3 of my holiday) already!
Still I had a really crafty day yesterday and by 8pm had been shopping, ignored the housework, run around after the kids, and still had time to fit 2 cards in :-)
This one is a bit of a departure for me - everything on it has been distressed in some way or other. Anyone who has seen me in class knows I go pale at the mention of the words tearing and distressing. I can't help it, in my working life everything has to be exact, there is no margin for error... ever... and after 15 years it's kind of got ingrained into my system... but I must be relaxing, cos once I got over the whole sanding, bashing and mussing it started to go OK and I couldn't stop :-)... ooh, and nothing on this card is anywhere near straight... eek! You've no idea how hard it was for me to just plonk and go, not levelling it all up by eye was a real toughy!
Mind you I wasn't the only one who got a bit distressed during the making of this card... eldest son asked... "are those my jeans that you've cut that bit of denim out of", eyes welling up... didn't matter that a) they didn't fit him anymore and b) had a hole in the knee... apparently I am a bad mother :-) cue massive guilt trip resulting in promise to go and see the new Shrek film later in the week. On reflection I think I've been had :-)
I've used several pieces of grungeboard which I've dabbed distress inks on then covered with glossy accents. I love how the darker blue has gone all mottled!
The image is by Kenny K (again, sorry!) but I've kind of grunged her up a bit - the new images are a lot more goth-y - I think she could be best described coloured like this as "goth lite" :-)
Supplies:
Digi image: Kenny K - coloured with copics; Papers - {you}th range by Prima Marketing; Grungeboard Plain Mixed Minis - Tim Holtz Idealogy; Faded Jeans and Weathered Wood Distress Inks; Stone Grey Stazon; Hangin' Out stamp from Friends set by Sandilion; Son's Jeans!
I'd like to enter this card for the following challenges
Kenny K Krafty Girlz Challenge 4 - On the Dark Side (hope this qualifies - I made her as "dark" as I could, and doing this much distressing is certainly me crossing over to the dark side :-)
