Good morning!!
OK, deep breath!! This is so much of a tough challenge for me, cos even my CAS cards have layers of some sort on them, but I've been looking at some of the work my friends Jeannie and Julie have been doing recently, plus other stuff from around blog land I decided to challenge myself and give it a go... and enter the Less Is More - Pick a Square Challenge at the same time
And wadda you know, two cards!!
So I picked a square and made a card with a die cut florish, and die cut and punched butterflies. The butterflies have been inked with a Bundled Sage distress ink pad, and the florish is from a scrap of
Bo Bunny Double Dot CS
The second uses some new Bo Bunny stamps I picked up the other day when I popped into Scrapbook Sisters - honestly I should wear a blindfold to stop myself being naughty as they have some lovely stuff in at the moment :-)
I wanted to send my friend Ali a card, as she had ordered a Christening card from me and I know she stops by my blog every now and then. We first met when we started primary school when we were 4, so I have known her... OMG 34 years this year!! That's a long time!! I think she is as stunned as I am at me being able to create things as we always hid at the back in art classes and she was one of the fellow recipients of a tut from whichever art teacher was trying to teach us. Maybe with hindsight there was talent there, just the teaching didn't allow it to shine :-) Anyway, we have been going on for ages about how we need to meet up for lunch and haven't got round to it for one reason or another. A poor excuse I know, and as I was thumbing through some old pictures the other day I found quite a few of her in my birthday photos... always with a silly face on... LOL!!! It really doesn't seem like its been 34 years, so this image and the Sandilion sentiment seemed appropriate. I stamped the sentiment and then masked it to stamp the pocket watch and corner florishes.

I do like the simplicity of these cards as they really make you think about the composition and there isn't much room for error as you can't cover it up!! Not that I ever have to do a bit of quick thinking to cover up something that hasn't worked as I'd intended, oh no :-D. I'm not sure anything will prise me away from the more-is-more technique, but it certainly makes a nice change :-) And it does make for a lovely quick card (think half an hour instead of my usual 2-3 hours!!)
I'd like to enter my cards for
Before I go, I got a mail the other day (OK last week, but time flies when you're having fun huh???) from Jeanie aka The Spotted Chick to say that I was one of the winners from her That's Krafty Thursday Challenge - which makes me a Krafty Chick, with even the badge to prove it, LOL!! Thank you Jeanie, I was doing the clappy hand dance for ages after reading your email... which got me a few odd looks in the office but hey!!
now if I've worked it out right, I think today will be the start of the next Krafty Thursday, so why not stop on by and share you Krafty creations?
Thanks for looking! More tomorrow
Sue xx
