Missing, one hamster...

Afternoon, I hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Ours started with being woken up by our 8 year old son bursting into our bedroom to tell us that the lid was off his hamster cage and Rufus the hamster was missing!!

Visions of the thing running through the house until it chewed on an electrical cable flashed through my mind, so my son and I started looking for it.  After about half an hour of searching he said he could hear scratching from in his wardrobe, so hubby and I started emptying it out, but no sign!!  Peering down the side of the wardrobe found one rather scared looking hamster and after about another 20 minutes we managed to coax it out, getting it into a plastic box and from there into it's cage, where it drank for ages and stuffed it's cheeks with food... I guess like most runaways the outside world looked enticing but turned out to be a frightening place :-)

Small son (who is suspected of having undone the bit of the cage from where the hamster escaped from!) has been told NOT to touch.  The hamster appears unscathed, and is sleeping off his little adventure!!

After the early morning drama I needed to relax so made another card for Kerry to take to CHA, I based this one on the sketch at Stamptacular Sunday

I have used Shopping Nikki and the last of my lovely Doodlebug glittery paper - just a tiny piece left now :-)  I've also used my new scroll dies - I like them but they are a bit of a fiddle to get out of the die!!

I've also been working on a card for Monday, but I'll share that with you at a later date :-)

I'd like to enter this card into these challenges

Moving Along With The Times - Dreams (I'd love a day shopping!)

Thanks for stopping by, more tomorrow

Sue xx

  2. We had the same kind of hamster story but with a white mouse, the problem is she had found the way out of her cage and got out every night until we put her into another cage with a different closing system...
Still love as much this wonderful chocolate paper!

  5. Oh Sue, that happened to me with my pet hamster years ago. He somehow managed to push the tube out from his cage and escpaed. It was hilarious, my younger sister was never very good at shutting the bathroom door on trips to the loo was sat on the loo and Jack ran across in front of her!!! The scream we heard from downstairs, well, we all roared with laughter!!
I'm hoping Grace will be happy with a pony and maybe a rabbit or guinea pig :)
