Getting Spooky for Through The Craft Room Door

Hello!!

I quite often enter the challenges at Through The Craft Room Door, and one challenge I thought "oooh, they are asking for GDT, why not pop off a little email and see what happens!

I was pretty stunned when Sandi came back to me, and asked me to join in with today's challenge, but I really enjoyed working with this gorgeous Paper Shelter image Was Not Me, you can just imagine the cats expression!

I used some Bo Bunny papers from an age ago, some lime green ribbon and a witches broom die cut I found in my stash, along with a TH die cut - I don't use this one enough!!

Do you think the cat has knocked over her hair die... lol!!

Many thanks to Sandi and all the team for inviting me to join in with the fun this week

Please may I enter these challenges

Late, but not square at LCI

Hello!

I was supposed to post this card this morning... naughty me!  I was meant to be putting the finishing touches to it last night, but was a bit shaken up after a very near miss with a 4x4 in the lanes, after he went off the road, through the hedge and fence into a field, to miss the van in front of me, only to come back onto the road right by me.  He missed me by millimetres, and I was pretty freaked out when I got home and realised just how lucky I'd been.  What an idiot driving that fast on country lanes, hope it costs him a fortune to repair the damage!

Anyway, I finished my card off tonight instead, and Kerry (head ladybug!) has promised not to sack me :-D

The lovely Lyndsey has chosen this fortnights challenge at Ladybug Crafts Ink and she would like to see

No Squares

After I stopped hyperventilating at not being able to use squares... I always use squares!!... I thought, OK, I'll go with circles and got busy with my circle cutter (I don't have a set of the big nesties, or even a big die cutting machine!).  The simple compass like cutter doesn't cut circles anywhere as neatly as a cie, but it does the job :-D

I used some MME papers from my stash (they are halloween ones, not that there is a lot of the paper left to see!) and black and dark orange cardstock.  Despite it meant to be a spooky card, I couldn't resist adding a TH die cut, lace, ribbons, pins, bows and pearls and a bit more lace!  I also inked up one of the stamps I got from Stampin Up, then coloured in the white bits with some distress ink

I just love colouring up Magnum, please don't ask me how I do the stripes, I just keep adding more colour and, and blend it out with lighter tones from the same colour family until it looks kinda right, there's no science to it :-D  I printed the Pumpkin in a larger than life size, and popped Lily on Magnum's hand.  If you like Magnum, check out all the add-on's that you can get to make him a cat for all seasons here!

It's not a super scary Halloween card, but I hope you like it!

Please may I enter these challenges

Witchy Boo...

Hello!!!!

It's a boo on the card front today, with another Halloween card

I really admire images when they have been completely coloured monochrome, but I didn't think the face of this little cutie would look right, but eased up on the cheek colour a bit, and stuck the greyscale to her clothes.

Without more waffle from me, here's today's card

I've used some more of the gorgeous MME papers, some ribbon and fibres, gems and my lovely Paper Shelter image... sorry for using her so much at the moment!

The fence is cut with a Tim Holtz die, and by pure luck I placed it so that the cat on the paper was sitting ontop of the fence, :-D, LOL don't you just love it when something happens that you weren't intending but just adds to the design!

Anyway, I've got a busy day ahead of me as we are taking the kids to Dorset, which will be about a 4 hour drive minimum after work, where they will be spending their half term holiday, we'll have dinner and then head home as we are going racing again on Saturday, Sunday will be a PJ day I feel!!
Thanks for stopping by

P.S.  Thanks to the lovely Lisa for my new signature!!

Halloween.. part two...

Hello!!

I couldn't help myself, and jsut had to do another card with the Paper Shelter image I got the other day, so thought I'd share it today.. sorry, this one is similar to yesterdays!  As the house was fairly tidy I only had a few chores to do, kids school clothes to iron, cooking etc, so plenty (!!) of time to get some crafting done

LOL I can see her being used LOTS!!

I used the last of my oversized Bazzill blooms, and teamed it with an orange Prima flower and a black felt brad.

This time I coloured her hair green, and added a few dots of sparkle to her dress... stunning in her own way!!

Anyway, I'd love to enter these challenges please

Right, gotta dash, gotta get the kids to school (on time today, hopefully!!) and then to onto work... honestly, I'd FAR rather not, but it's what feeds my crafting addiction, so needs must :-D

Have a great week

Anyone seen my broom???

Hello!!

How are you!  I hope you are having a great weekend!

It's a late post from me (it's nearly 2am as I'm typing this!!) but I can't sleep as I have spent most of the afternoon and evening in bed with a monster migrane and now I can't settle, so have given up and come to type up the post that I meant to do yesterday but the migraine got it the way!  It also would have meant removing my eldest son from the computer, which is like trying to get a limpet off of a rock, so I left HB in charge of the kids, and took myself off to a darkened room to try to shake the worst of it off...  as I said I succeeded, but now am not sleepy!!

Ah well, every cloud has a silver lining, so it means I'm able to share this little cutie a bit earlier than I otherwise would have done!

We don't really celebrate Halloween here, but it's a darn good excuse to make a few cards!  I also got busy distressing all of the papers and CS, nothing like a bit of distressing to relieve tension :-D.  There is so much inspiration from so many challenge blogs who are doing the whole Halloween/Autumn/Fall thing at the moment too, that it would be rude not too join in!  Special mention must be made to Pals Paper Arts who have the most amazing picture of a decorated doorway and porch!!

The papers are a right assortment, there's Bo Bunny, Making Memories and Rusty Pickle in there.  The Prima flower has a sparkly brad in the centre.

I saw this image over at The Paper Shelter  and just love her!!  Love all the stuff lost in her slightly askew Marie Antoinette (sp??) style hair :-D.  The broom especially makes me laugh, years ago I used to work with someone who used to pull her hair up and then shoved pens in it when she needed her hands free, and by the end of the day there was about 5 pens buried in there!!

As ever she's coloured with copics, and I have added Glossy accents to the spider, her batty necklace and the potion pot in her hair.

Right I suppose I'd better go and try to sleep otherwise I'm going to be grumpy tomorrow!

Before I do, please can I enter these challenges
The Paper Shelter - Animals (hope the cat in her hair counts)
Simon Says Stamp - Halloween/Goth
Cupcake Craft Challenge - Halloween

Thanks for stopping by, more tomorrow... or later today!!

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 52 - Autumn Colours

Hello!

This is SO late for me, I'm normally so sorted with my cards and posts, but I got all behind and had to pull a late one last night to get these done!  Tusk, must be more organised next week and get my DT cards tonight /tomorrow as we are going Castle Combe for a mini-only track day on Satuday and are leaving on Friday with the aim of getting there in daylight.  I haven't been in years, so am quite excited, even though we are trailering someone elses car down as ours isn't a track car and we don't want to risk it, but I have been promised a lap or two, so I might be able to share a pic or two over the weekend.

Right enough blah, blah, blah from me and onto today's card!!

This weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge is Autumn Colours, and I used some MME papers, well I guess they are Halloweeny, but as they are just pumpkins not too much so.  I ended up making two cards again, although not intentionally this time as I cut my papers and then realised that the direction of the papers didn't work with the image I had coloured... not to worry another image quickly coloured and two cards done!!  Mind you it is a CASish layout so it wasn't too much of a trauma!!

Anyway, here's the first card which uses Black Witches Shoes Digi designed by Sally West and available from Scrapbook Sisters

I typed and printed the sentiment onto CS, distressed it and cut it up.  Don't know why I thought of this as a sentiment, in my defense it was VERY late!!

The second card is the same design, but portrait, and using the Mummy digi by Gayle Bond for Scrapbook Sisters

I'm not entirely sure about the sentiment, I think it's WAY too big, so I can see it being replaced for a smaller one!

Please can I enter these challenges

Uh oh :-(

Honestly I have no idea what has been wrong with me for the last few days but my mojo has gone walkabout, I've done a couple of bits of colouring, but have no idea how to put it together :-(  so feeling sorry for myself tonight I went on the trawl for a sketch that would get me back on the horse, as it were :-)

This is what I came up with

The image is one of the new Scrapbook Sisters Digi Stamps by the lovely Gayle - this one is the Mummy image, which is a bargain 99p!!

Goodness knows what is wrong with me cos I've been on a bit of a roll for quite a while, maybe cos work is a bit more stressful that usual isn't helping... hmmm...  I'm hoping that spending Saturday at the Scrapbook Sisters Halloween class and crop (click here for pics of last year) will encourage my Mojo back out from wherever she's hiding :-) , I didn't go last year but dropped in and everyone looked like they were having a blast, so looking forward to joining in this time round.  Goodness alone knows what I'm wearing though... I remembered something that would have been suitable from when I was much younger so popped into my mums on the way home and tried it on.  I shall not be wearing it, as while it still fitted in most areas it would appear since having the kids certain areas have increased in size... this meant that I was stuck in their bathroom entrapped in black unable to move my arms, my mother (helpfully in fits of laughter... humph...) asking if I needed scissors... 15 minutes of wiggling later I was free (hurrah!!!)... another one for the charity shop I feel!!  I did find a couple of bits and bobs, just need to find the correct attire for my legs!!

Papers are by Bo Bunny, Stamsps - Martha Stewart and Woodware, Ribbon, buttons and brad from Stash

I'd like to enter this card for thse challenges please

Thanks for looking

Couldn't leave though without sharing this one with you - just a little card made with my Gorjuss girl again - who I am renaming Wednesday from the Addams family :-)

Papers are by Rusty Pickle.  Did you notice the stitched border??  How amazing is that - I've been playing with the settings on my sewing machine again :-)

I'd like to enter this for

A Spoonfull of Sugar - Boo!

Gorjuss Halloween

I've been playing with my Gorjuss Girls again and making them all spooky!!  Here's the latest card, based on this weeks sketch over at Creative Inspirations

I've used Toil & Trouble papers by Making Memories again - I'm kicking myself for only buying one sheet of each now... I know, I know, what was I thinking, cos I love them, the colours are so rich an d warm, proper leaf scuffing colours lol :-D

My Gorjuss Girl is obviously not that into Halloween though, cos she's still in her Autumn frock, and has only bunged a hat on her head... just to show willing :-)

Charms are from a stall at Ally Pally

I'd like to enter this card for
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Three of a Kind (I've used three ribbons - Tulle, orange/white stripey and the one with the eyes)

Thanks for looking, more tomorrow!!

Still Autumnal, still Halloweeney...

I loved playing around making the card for this weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge - Full Moon, and although we don't celebrate Halloween in a big way in our house, it is a jolly good excuse to make some cards :-)

The only down side is that I don't actually own any proper Halloween stamps, and after my little splurge at Ally Pally I am trying to be good!!  So I am trying to adapt what I have, so tonight's card features another of my Gorjuss girls, but I have played dress up with her a bit...

Does it work?  I think I just about get away with it :-)

I've used this weeks sketch from Sweet Stop Sketch Challenge, and I'd also like to enter this card for the following challenges

Supplies -
CS - Black and Tan Bazzill; DP - Making Memories Toil & Trouble; Gorjuss Girl, stamped on Neenah, coloured with copics; Tulle; "Eyes" Ribbon; Witches Hat Charm; MS Iron Gate Border Punch; Sentiment - Imaginisce

Thanks for stopping by, more tomorrow

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 5 - Full Moon

Morning!!

Where are the weeks going, it only seems like yesterday that we launched the first Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge and here we are at number 5 already!!

This one is a cracking one - Full Moon...

So get your witches hats on and see what you come up with :-)

Here's my card

I love the vintage Gothic theme of this card and paper!!

I have used the same image as last weeks challenge, but I think the card looks totally different.  I don't actually have any proper Halloween images but I thought it a good use of my existing stamps to use one I already had... but in a different way.  I just love how she's running from that spider!!

There's quite a bit going on with this card, not just Mr Spider dangling on his length of thread (silver machine embroidery silk).   The web and the spider are die cuts, which I have popped a liberal amount of glossy accents to.

I love the ribbons and charms too (I've got a bit of a thing for charms right now!!), and there's some tulle, velvet ribbon and grosgrain too

The little "don't look" tab has a surprise lurking too... well what are you going to do if something says "don't look"???

LOL, my eight year old thought that was hilarous, that's all the approval I needed!!

And to carry the theme through to the inside of the card I have decorated in there too with some scraps

Supplies:

From Scrapbook Sisters - Bo Bunny Halloween Paper; Black Bazzill; Pumpkin Charm; Black Diamond Stickles;  Black Tulle; Spider and Web Die Cut; Copics; White Rub Ons
Other - Green Cardstock; Lilac Grosgrain; Black Velvet Ribbon; Black Pearls; Martha Stewart Iron Gate punch: "Happy Halloween" Stamp, "Boo" and "...Frightfully Fantastic..." stamps, Witches Hat Charm all from my trip to Ally Pally; Cinderella Stamp - Kraftin' Kimmie

Looking forward to seeing what you come up with

Sue xx
