Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Challenge 26 - Going Dotty

Good morning!!  Welcome to this weeks Totally Ladybug Tuesday aka Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge

This week it is the turn of the lovely Lisa to set the challenge, which is...

Going Dotty

Here's my take on the challenge

I've used some papers from the Like Father Like Son range by Fancy Pants Designs, which I know are quite masculine in design and colour, but I really like this card as it's pretty and feminine without being too girly girl... if that makes any kind of sense!!  And it's certainly dotty!!

I used Shopping Nikki (which you can get here) and coloured her with copics, and added some stickles to her bags and eyeshadow.  I wanted to sit her on my new Nestie, but the size I wanted to use was a bit too small, and the next size up was a bit too big... grrr don't you just hate it when that happens!!  So I ended up stamping her on Neenah, colouring her then cutting her out and used my nestie on Dotted Swiss Bazzill (more dots!!) to 3D her

I used the same dotted swiss CS to punch a border with a MS border punch then added some lovely Elephant Grey felt from Ladybug Crafts Ink (this stuff is gorgeous and you can get it here).  I sewed round my papers and the felt with my sewing machine.  I wrapped the panel with some dotty lace (more dots!!) and some pewter grosgrain ribbon, and added a pewter ribbon slider (I think this is a Making Memories, but I could be wrong, it's been in my stash for ages!!)  I then added some black diamond crystals to the punched border and slipped Nikki's panel underneath the ribbon and lace.  The same crystals are at the top right of the card, but they're hiding in the picture!!

I couldn't resist adding this gorgeous sentiment to this card - it seemed SOOOO appropriate - I got it at Ally Pally, just kicking myself I didn't get a few more!!  It is hung off a Tim Holtz Hitch Fastener - Love these, they look like little door knobs!! - but I have secured it with a 3D pad to stop it wobbling!!  I've used an assortment of flowers with just a touch of stickles in the centre.

I used the bigger nestie on the inside, plus a sentiment from Sentimental Numbers set (available here)

That's it, hope you like it :-)

I'd like to enter my card into these challenges please

Simply Create - Rock the Metal (I'm hoping the ribbon slider and Hitch Fastener count!)

Right that's it from me, have a fabulous day.  If you have time, why not check out the rest of the DT's cards - there are links to all their blogs in the sidebar.

Looking forward to seeing all your

Thanks for stopping by

Sue xx

Love this Sue! I see what you mean about not being girly, it is a little more sophisticated than that but still feminine. Very nice!
