Shapes a plenty at Crafty Cardmakers and More

Hello!

This fortnight at Crafty Cardmakers and More the theme is

Shaped Cards

So, as no squares or rectangles are allowed (my go to shape, and I'm sure I am not alone in this!!) I went all 3D and went for a collapsible box card.  These always look fabulous and are well received, but are ridiculously easy to make  - if you've never made one before why not have a look at one of the many tutorials on the internet and give it a go :-)

I used one of my Ladybug Crafts Ink images, this little cutie and the sentiment are from the Baby Baby Set, and is one of my all time favourites, but sadly no longer available as LCI closed last year :(

The die cuts are from Memory Box, and the papers are a Hunkydory freebie that came with a magazine

I decorated the tabs in the box with a cute little baby vest that was from another freebie and a second sentiment that is from a set by Papertreyink

Anyway, that's it from me today

Oh Baby... take three @ LCI

Hello!

I could really get into the swing of using one set of images for an entire month, I don't know about you but the more I colour a certain image the happier I am :-D

Anyway this is week three of the current LCI challenge which is Oh Baby! in honour of head ladybug Kerry about to be a Nanny!  I say about as at the time of writing her daughter is too-ing and fro-ing from the hospital, so by the time you read this there may be a mini-ladybug in the world!

I'm not sure if I mentioned it last week, but commenter's were eligible to win my image (you can get it here)... sneaky huh?   My kids (seemed appropriate, given the theme!) argued between themselves then picked my winners this week... cost to me, two kinder eggs, cost to them three bruises (although one might have been from a playground incident!)

Anyway, they loved the comments from

Congratulations ladies :-)  Please leave me a comment with how to mail you your image and I'll get it to you as soon as I can... I hope you enjoy playing with it as much as I have

Now the cat is out of the bag, if you want to win a prize too, why not comment on this post and keep looking to see if you are a winner next week!

Which brings me on nicely to this weeks card!

After using this image for a one-of-each twins card, and a girl-twin card, it seems appropriate to make a boy-twin card, well you've got to cover all eventualities don't you!

I used some MME papers, and some of the new dies I've got recently, today's card uses the new to me cloud die from Memory Box (yes I know every crafter and his/her dog has been popping clouds on their cards like forever, but it's new to me!).  I'm still not happy with my twine and how it hangs, so decided to take a leaf out of fellow LCI teamie Julie's look and leave it a bit long and drape it artfully... hmmm, need more practise at this methinks!  It seems a tad angular :-(

Here's a close up of the image, I added a touch of glamour dust to their hearts, bless...

Another couple of Memory Box dies, some luscious Berrisford's ribbon and some pearls finished this card off.  As and when someone I know has twin boys (lord help them, it's bad enough having two boys, let alone two the same age!!) I'll print a personalised sentiment and add it, but the inside is done and ready to go

Hope you like this weeks card - I do, not too much (boy's - even baby ones don't appreciate that!) but still cute never-the-less

More soon

Hello!

Lightening quick post from me today... two posts in one week, can you believe it!

(A bit late) New Arrival @ LCI

Hello!

Gosh it's been a little while!  Work nightmare continue, but I have been making the time to craft, not least because I have been going to my friend Karen's crafty evenings :-D  I've really been enjoying seeing old friends again, although as always there's often more coffee drunk, cake eaten and catching up than crafting!

The result is that I've actually got stuff to share - well I did until my internet died a death last week, just as I was about to post this card.  Anyway, shiny new router (or whatever it is called, although it would have been far more helpful if the delivery guy hadn't just left it round the back of the garage, but, I dunno, actually tried to see if we were home (we were!).  Just as well it was wrapped in plastic and the rain hadn't got through... Tusk... well at least I'm back on now, even if it's taken an extra day :-D

There I go again with the blah blah blah...

So on Tuesday the new release of Baby Billie images from LCI are released, and as always they are fabby and perfect, and the image I've used is spot on for when there's more than one new arrival, but more on that in a minute!

You can check out all the DT's cards by visiting their links on the main LCI Challenge Blog, and there are oodles of prizes on offer, so why not have a peek!

OK, so I'm going to fess up and admit to loving my fellow DT Lauries white and kraft card (here) that she posted a while back, so I took inspiration from her colour scheme, and took away and added bits and bobs here and there (Laurie... are we still friends, or do I need to grovel and/or send cash?).

I was going to heat emboss the back bit of kraft, but for the life of me I can't find my heat gun, I'm going to search the garage next as I suspect HB has nicked it to put heat shrink wrap round some cables on the mini!

So here's my card

And a close up of the sweet Twins! image... the greeting on the front reads Congratulations!, but only because I didn't have a "Commiserations" stamp... LOL!  I did this one as a boy/girl twins card, but the image would look equally as cute coloured up for twin girls or boys

I used some of my new dies for this card - I've been hankering after this fence die for ages and this card seemed perfect for it's first outing, and when I saw this image the baby clothes die just happened to fall in my basket too... no idea how that happened!

Hope you like it

As You Like It Challenge - Favourite Die/Punch (I love this card, it's quite fussy, but not too cluttered, and love the neutral colours too)

Colour combo at Ladybug Crafts Ink

Hello!

Hmmm, another week and I've been lacking in posts again... apologies.  I've no excuse, just had my lazy head on :-D  Actually I've been spring cleaning the house and washing all those things that you just can't get dry until the weather warms up.  Anyone know how curtains get quite so grubby when they are just haning there... nope me neither!  Anyway, enough waffle

Today's LCI challenge is a colour combo, as it is St George's Day in England today, the colours are red and white.  Not that St. George's Day is particularly celebrated by many people, and certainly not to the scale or enthusiasm of St. Patrick's Day!  But hey, we all like colour challenges and red and white is a great colour scheme, so any excuse!

Here's my card

I used some more of my new Memory Box dies, the heart dies work really well with this cutie of an image - the adorable Sleeping Baby Baby.  I kept the rest of the card fairly simple, well apart from a blooming big bow!

I'm hoping to put my card to good use soon, as my SIL is expecting a baby in early May, so anytime in the next 4 weeks I guess!  Maybe though if she has a boy I'll be making another as perhaps this one is a bit girly!

Anyway, hope you like it

Southern Girls Challenge - Oh Baby Baby

Hello!

A very long time with no see, I'm so sorry, life, the universe, and everything, got in the way.  I'm trying to make time for me, and therefore crafting but it ain't easy when I've got so much else going on!  Every time I think I've turned a corner it appears to be another dead end :-D  I'm sure I'll get myself out of the maze soon and normal service can resume!

Anyhooo, enough of my whinging, and onto today's card, which is a for this fortnights challenge over at Southern Girls, and the theme is Baby Baby

I decided to do a White on White card as I just love white cards for Birth Congrats, all fresh and clean, and I found this embossed babies feet cardstock in my stash... it must have been there a good couple of years, so I decided to use it.  Not that you can see it in the photo though!  Ahhh, I have such a nightmare taking pics of white cards!!  You'll just have to take me at my word :-D

I kept it simple-ish, colouring the Cuddle Cloud Baby image from Meljens Designs with copics then matting it onto more white c/s and tying a big organza bow, with a white button tied with oink and white bakers twine.  The sentiment is from the Baby Baby set by LCI (not sure if this is still available as a stamp set!)

I'll try to get a better picture and post it soon!

Thanks for looking, and hopefully I'll be back with more soon

Show us your stuff at LCI!!

Hello!!

This week at LCI the challenge is to show us your stuff, as we are pretty sure either Santa left you some crafty things, or your have been shopping in the sales :-D  Speaking of which, have you checked out the sale at the LCI store - 50% off - so why not fill your basket!!

There's quite a few new bits and bobs making an appearance on my card - Santa left me three new Nesties, two of which I've used on my card, I also got a whole host of Distress Inks, and I've used Tattered rose on my otherwise WOW card.

The ribbon is new too, but this was a resupply rather than a new purchase!!

The heart die cut was from my Secret Santa - it was perfect for this card with the tiny flecks of pink. Thank you who-ever she is!  If anyone knows who this die is by (without giving yourself away!) I'd love to know!!

I used  one of my favourite stamps from the Baby Baby stamp set, usually I do baby boys cards (which is odd, cos I have a big aversion to male cards nornally!!)

Scrapbook Sisters Challenge 59 - Baby Baby

Hello!

Wow, I just couldn't believe the number of entries there were for the last Scrapbook Sisters Card challenge - I think 304 is the record, even though this was a two week challenge, so a huge thank you to everyone who entered.  I tried to get to have a close look at as many as I could, but apologies if I didn't get to visit you!  Lovely to see such a wide variety of projects too :-D

However, it is a new week and there's a new challenge for you, and this week the theme is

I decided to use one of the first stamps I ever got, a little sweetie fresh and fragrant from the bath by Stampendous, with some papers from my stash by Paper Adventures

The tag is my new Marianne die, and I have lined the centre with some more of the main paper.  The ribbon is by Bo Bunny, sentiment by PTI, and the ribbon, charm and button are from my stash

I added a touch of glossy accents to the water drops on his head and foot, and to his duck, which was nearly my undoing as dizzy here stood her card up before the GA was dry and it dripped down the card, but I fixed it, what with that and the image-stuck-stuck-to-a-cat incident from earlier in the week I am a one-woman disaster zone!

Hope you can join in the fun this week!

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 42 - Hey Baby!!

Hello!!

This week at Ladybug Crafts Ink the challenge has been sent by Tams and she would like to see your Baby inspired cards!

I used one of the oh-so-cute images from the Baby Baby set - if you haven't seen this set before, check it out here, as for £8.99 you get 4 images and 7 sentiments, so they are the bestest value EVER!!  (and, shhh, I use the sentiments for non-baby stuff too, just don't tell anyone, it's our secret... OK?!?!)

Dunno why, but I'm sooooooo into neutrals right now, so I used some odds and ends of Bo Bunny Chiffon double dot and journal papers (don't fret, I have more on it's way!!), kraft and Chocolate CS.  I also LOVE this East of India Ribbon, and the gingham ribbon, and the dotty button, and I ADORE the little wooden tag that is hanging off a Tim Holtz hitch fastener!!  Monty Mushroom felt is in the middle of the Prima flower, with a taupe brad in the centre.... can you tell, just a little bit that I really, really like this card :-D

Little cutie here has been coloured with copics, and there is a touch of Glamour Dust on the blankie... did you spot the tootsies peeking out the bottom??  All together now... awwwww....  Actually it was a really touch choice which of the four images to use, as they are all so sweet!

OK, that's it from me today, hope you are having a great week, and I'm looking forward to seeing all of your baby cards!

Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge 36 - Favourite Stamp Midway Reminder

Hello!!

Where are the weeks going!!
Can you believe we are half way through August already!  Where is time going to?!  Anyway, the challenge
at Ladybug Crafts Ink is running all of the month of August, and the theme is

Good job I have more than one chance at making a card this month, as it would have been a tough job narrowing it down to one!!  Anyway I decided to use another one of the stamps from the Baby Baby set, and kept it neutral by using the same papers as for last weeks card.  I really like neutral colours for baby cards, especially as a lot of baby decor at the moment are neutral and the recipient could pop the card in a frame if they wanted.

Enough waffle, here's my card

I used some Bo Bunny double dot cardstock in Chiffon - both the dotty and the journal varieties.  The sentiment is included in the set.

I found it quite a challenge, as I wanted to stick to a cream colour scheme, and I stuggled to find the right colours in my copic collection, but I think I got there in the end.

I kept the inside simple, and used another of the sentiments stamped in Cocoa Momento

I'd like to enter these challenges

Thanks forstopping by, I'm really looking forward to your blue creations

Caramel baby

Just a quick post from me this morning, as work is calling - I really do not want to go in today - I came down with a rotten cold yesterday, which added to the going back after 2 weeks off was the last thing I needed!!

There is no new challenge at Ladybug Crafts Ink as the Favourite Stamp challenge is running for the whole of August, but I couldn't resist making a card using another of my favouritist LCI images!  It was a tough choice I can tell you, but I decided to use one of  the images from the Baby Baby set - this is a gorgeous set of Baby images and sentiments

I decided on a muted colour scheme and went for a some creamy Bo Bunny Double Dot and Journal CS with some cream and chocolate Bazzill, as the card can be for a boy or girl and is quite contemporary.  The lace and the flower are by Prima and the printed ribbon is by East of India.  The dotted button is from a local haberdashery store

I coloured the image with copics, added a smudge of Antique Linen on the edges and matted on chocolate and cream cardstock .  There is a touch of glitter on the edge of the blanket

I got this sweet little wooden charm at Ally Pally earlier in the year and I've hung it on a Tim Holtz hitch fastener.  Getting some more of these are definately on my shopping list for the next show!!

And don't forget, you can still get free international shipping and buy one get one (same or lower value) half price...  what are you waiting for!!

Please can I enter my card into these challenges

Thanks for looking, more tomorrow
