Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Challenge 5 - Colour Wheel with a Twist

This week's challenge over at The Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog has been set by Caz, who is our November GDT member.  It's been a great month and I really hope Caz has enjoyed herself.

Today is Caz's turn to get her own back set the challenge and she has chosen to set a

colour wheel challenge, with a twist....

and the twist is to pick the colours you use the most and then use the colours on the opposite side of the colour wheel... eek!!

Here's what I came up with

I'm going to be quite honest and say that I found this challenge, well a challenge because I think I use colours from all over the sectrum, but I do use quite a few pinks so I went for green

Fortunately I found this paper by Cosmo Cricket that was just perfect to go with Snow Angel Nikki & Buttercup.  I found some rather lovely glittery green ribbon in my stash so tied it into a big bow (loving chunky organza ribbon right now!)

Update - a little late but news that Kerry has a Christmas special on at the moment - order one stamp and you get a second half price... well it'd be rude not too with an offer like that so why not check them all out here!!

Hope you like it :-)

Supplies: Snow Angel Nikki and Buttercup, Ladybug Crafts Ink; Sentiment - Personal Impressions; Paper - Breezy Freezy by Cosmo Cricket; Cream CS; Dark Green Bling CS; Green Satin and Organza Sparkly Ribbon; Green Gems; Tuxedo Momento Black inkpad; Glamour Dust; Diamond Dust; Copics; Bundled Sage Distress Ink; Versmark; Green Embossing Powder; Scalloped border, square and snowflakes cut on Cricut; Sewing Machine.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have time to check out what the rest of the DT have been up to and to give this weeks challenge a go :-)

Quick post...

...cos I'm yawning my head off!!  It appears to have been the longest week EVER this week, so I was glad to get home tonight and make this card :-)

A colleague at work goes to classes at a different craft shop to the one I go to so yesterday lunchtime Debs and I took a trip down there, cos it's only a couple of minutes from our office - we didn't know what to expect but it was OK, so we had a happy half hour mooching and I got a couple of papers that I hadn't seen before and a set of Christmas word stamps.  Both of which I had to test out on tonight's card.  It's not a huge shop but the papers that were on offer were well presented and cared for (always a good sign I feel, I HATE tatty papers).  All in all I've had FAR worse lunch breaks :-)

Right here's my card

The sentiment has been stamped onto a scalloped circle punched out of white CS with versamark and heat embossed with purple embossing powder.  I've used the same embossing powder to edge the circle and distressed it with lilac inks

Supplies:
Image - Lily of the Valley; Sentiment - Personal Impressions; Copics; Glamour Dust; Diamond Dust; Momento Tuxedo Black; Versamark; Lilac Inkpad; Hampton Art Purple Embossing Powder;
CS - White; Valiant Violet Coredinations; Paper - Best Creation Inc; MS Snowflake Punch; Woodware Scalloped Circle Punch; Lilac Satin and Purple Organza Ribbon; Purple Gems

I'd like to enter this card for these challenges

Thanks for looking, have a great weekend

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 12- Let It Snow

...actually I hope it doesn't... not yet... over Christmas is OKwhen I don't have to get to work/school etc etc and I have a fridge full of wine food, cos we really, really get snowed in here!!

Still if the weather forecasters are right we could see a bit of the white stuff this week in my little corner of the world, still at least my heating oil has been delivered so we are back to being warm and cosy after a couple of days of only having the fire and the storage heaters... brrr!

So this weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge could be right on time with the theme of

Let It Snow

Here's my card

What else could I do bar a shaker card for this challenge :-)

The image is Snow Star - one of the new exclusive Digi images from Scrapbook Sisters and I have masked it up then dabbed distress inks all over (actually I went over the top with the blending, but it looks OK), and he has been coloured with Copics, glamour dusted, and glossy accented before being popped in the frame with a whole load of Diamond Dust (much better than my glitter to make the snow as it doesn't seem to be sticking to the acetate quite as much!!)

The frame and the snowflakes were cut on the Cricut

Supplies
From Scrapbook Sisters:  Snow Star Digi Image; Penny Black Snowflakes sentiment; White Dotty Bazzill; Navy Bazzill; Snowman Ribbon; Weathered Wood, Faded Jeans and Chipped Sapphire Distress Inks, Copics, Glamour Dust; Glossy Accents; Blue Glitter Gel Pen
Other: Gems; Diamond Dust; MS Snowflake Punch

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Challenge 4 - Michele's Sketch Challenge

Good morning, hope you are having a great week so far :-)

Today I'm sharing something a little bit different - a desk calender - which I have made using the sketch by the lovely Michele for this weeks Ladybugs Crafts Ink Challenge

Here's the front cover

Supplies: Cupcake Ruby; Paper - Lush "Pink Floral", MME; MS loopy punch; Prima Flower; Ribbon; Gems; Glamour Dust; Stickles; Oval, Scalloped Oval and numbers cut on Cricut

I hope you have time to check out the rest of the Ladybugs creations by clicking on the links in the sidebar :-)

The base of this calender was one that has been sitting on my desk for the past year and I have been waiting for the opportunity to get rid of the yucky corporate pages and replace them with something more to my liking :-)  As the new diaries etc have starting turning up I could wait no longer to, err, recycle it :-)

Here's the inside - as I got into my stride I found it easier to replicate the design for each page, but switch the image from left to right to keep the calender sitting as flat as possible :-).  I'd also like to say that all those holes where the wire goes through have been handcut as I don't have a bind-it-all machine - honestly I'm amazed the pages are as in line as they are!!  I think I'm going to tinker with a few op the pages a bit more until I am happy... well as happy as a crafter gets with a project anyway :-)

Sparkle sparkle sparkle

Just a quick post then off to bed with me...

Before I go, thanks for all the lovely messages regarding my car related incident yesterday... I am fully recovered from the being towed ordeal :-)  The car is an easy fix, although there were three types of fuel pump that were fitted to my model of car - easy to get hold of, but for some unknown reason one is £50, one is £100, and one is a whoping £250 - wanna hazard a guess which one is fitted to my car!!  In the meantime I am driving the mini (HB isn't happy as it's been raining today and he doesn't like it getting wet (honestly, men... I caught him polishing the exhaust the other week... and he thinks I'm obsessed with crafting... :-)  )

Onto todays card... this is one I made when my friend Debs and I had a get togther - its always a giggle and great to bounce ideas of each other :-)

I used one of my LOTV stamps and I jsut adore these little guys... and its mostly white-ish so less colouring, and at Christmas when we all have tons of cards to get through that has to be a timesaver!!

Supplies
CS - Bazzill Bling & Teal Shade; Papers - Fancy Pants (why did I only buy one sheet!!); Ribbon.  All from Scrapbook Sisters
Image - Lily of the Valley
Epoxy Dots - Ladybug Crafts Ink;
Other - Copics; Glossy Accents; Stickles; Brown Fineliner; Diamond Dust

I'd love to enter these challenges please!!

Hope you like it as much as I do!  Thanks for stopping by...

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 11 - Christmas Tree

I'm so sorry I'm so late posting my cards for this weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card challenge (yes I did say cards!!), but I had a few issues since leaving work and it's taken me til now to get myself organised...

...to cut a very long story short a colleague asked me to make an emergency card for her sister for tomorrow and I said OK, thinking I could get home just after 6 and get cracking... however I hadn't banked on the car deciding to stop on the way home :-(  A duel carriage way, in the dark and cold with a winging 3 year old for company is not recommended!!  The AA man eventually turned up, and insisted I had run out of petrol and took all the cash I had on me to go and get some, leaving me and the small one out in the cold... surprise surprise it didn't work... so after an hour of faffing about he finally agreed that it was what I told him it was when he first turned up (fuel pump packed up) and he had to tow me - 20 miles of sheer terror... it was blooming horrid which was not helped by Sam deciding he'd had enough and trying to open the door (cue much yelling (me) followed by uncontrollable crying (him) !!)  Anyway, we got it to my in laws house as my drive is really steep and he wouldn't have been able to get me up to the house, where HB met me and we left it there to deal with at the weekend.  So I expected to be home at 6 and didn't get home til gone 9 :-(  I'll show you the card I made for my colleague in a later post...

Right, so that's my excuse for being late!!

This weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge is Christmas Tree

And being a bit fussy I ended up making 3 cards

Here's the first one

As you can see it's an acetate card, and I have run the acetate through the cuttlebug with the snowflake embossing folder.  Papers are Bo Bunny, Image??? - embossed with silver embossing powder and edges stamped with a scroll stamp with Weathered Wood Distress Ink

Here's the second one - similar idea but white not clear

The CS is dotty Bazzill and the sentiment is from a set by Personal Impressions (I think!!)

The third one looks appalling in the pic but is in fact a triangle card - all three sides have been decorated, one with a sentiment and the other with a space for the greeting, and it folds flat for posting

Papers by Bo Bunny and the image is Girl With Presents which is a digi image available exclusively from Scrapbook Sisters.  I really like the concept of this, but it doesn't look finished to me - i'm putting it to one side for now and will fiddle with it til I'm happy :-)

Right, that's it from me - my bed is screaming to me!!

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - My Challenge!!

Hi!!  It's a rather exciting day for me today, as it's Tuesday which means that  it is time for another challenge over at the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog (aka, Totally Ladybug Tuesday!), and this week it's my turn to set the challenge!!  (breathe Sue, breathe!!)

So I would love to see some Christmas Sparkle on your projects - easy huh!!

Without further ado... here's my card...

I adore this years paper release from Bo Bunny, they are gorgeous!!  I've used White and Purple Organza, Lilac Grosgrain and white twine which has got little bits of organza tied at intervals.  The snowflakes were cut on my Cricut (thanks to Pinky for the tip - a good scrub at the cutting mat with a baby wipe bought back its sticky - hurrah!!) A few amethyst coloured gems and a charm finished this off :-)

I knew from I set this challenge I wanted to use Snow Covered Log Ruby - I love her and her counterpart Daydreaming Ruby, they are both such a joy to colour and seem to work no matter what your colourscheme is - have a look here for Ruby all in greys and silvers.

Supplies:
Image - Snow Covered Log Ruby - Ladybug Crafts Ink,
Papers - Bo Bunny; CS - Purple Mirri, Bazzill Bling
Misc - Ribbons; Gems; Charm, Glamour Dust, Diamond Dust
Other - Copics; Cricut; Deckled Rectangles Nesties

I hope you will be able to give this challenge a go - you don't have to use a LCI stamp, but we love it when you do (and you could add to your collection if you win this weeks prize!!) :-)  Please take a moment to check out the other DT's blogs by clicking on their links in the sidebar.   Oooh, and before I forget there is still time to get 15% off all the LCI stamps - just enter the code CB2010 when checking out

I'd like to enter this card in these challenges

Just sitting around

Thank goodness it's Friday!!  Whoo hoo :-)  Has this week dragged or is it just me?  Maybe because now the clocks have gone back it's not really properly light when I get to work in the morning and dark again when I leave - maybe I'm suffering daylight withdrawal :-)  I don't suppose the cold and the wet are helping much either, and OMG it was so windy here last night I swear the house was shaking!!

Although my mojo is still popping in and out I had a go at making a card last night and I am reasonably pleased with this one - I think I needed a bit of brightness to lift me from the gloom :-)

The image of the girl is a digi by Kenny K - I adore her boots, they really seem to pop :-)  and the stone wall I have sat her on is a proper stamp by Molly Blooms - I quite surprised myself at my colouring of both images tonight - as ever they look much better IRL than in the pics, but comparing my work when I first got my copics I can definitely see an improvement!!  (This whole me being able to colour in, and images look OK enough is still a strange concept for me!!)

As I was putting this together it looked like something was missing, so did a quick stitch round the edges and I think it looks all the better for it :-)  The leaves behind the flower are cut on the cuttlebug and the gem in the centre is a little red heart button which is so cute, but naturally it's the only one I have, so will be on the hunt for some more!!

Supplies:
Images:  Kenny K "Queens Cutie; Molly Blooms "Stone Wall"
Papers: Kraft-esque CS; Bo Bunny "Pedal Pushers" and "Alissa" papers; Bo Bunny "Pink Punch" Double Dot CS;
Flowers, Ribbon and Gems from Stash
Cuttlebug Leaf Die, Copics, Sewing Machine, Pink Thread

I'd like to enter this for

Hope you have a great day, thanks for looking!!

Thursday Morning quick post

Where is the month going!!!  Can't quite get over we are nearly halfway through already, and OMG Christmas is looming!!

Certain friends of mine have already got 90% of their Christmas shopping already.  This is a practice that should be BANNED!!  It makes those of us that are not that organised panic!!  Still at least the Christmas Cards are still coming thick and fast, although this one is going to a colleague who has asked me to make a load for her - this may mean my nearest and dearest will get one from the supermarket, bought at the last minute in a complete panic but hey, as they say every little helps... LOL!!  Besides which my mojo keeps dropping by to say hello, normally about 2.30 in the morning... humph :-/

Anyway, enough of my yadda yadda yadda, here's the latest card...

Papers are two sheets from a DCWV Christmas stack cut about a bit and the image is the Girl with Presents Digi Stamp from Scrapbook Sisters - I love this image, she is so stylish :-)

As ever stamped onto Neenah and coloured with Copics, with a liberal scattering of glamour dust and glossy accents.

The snowflakes are by K & Co and originally had clear gems in the centres but I carefully picked these off and glued pink ones in their place.  The sentiments are from Lakeland from when they still did stamp sets.  The charm is a little Christmas stocking that I got at Ally Pally.

I'd like to enter this card for these challenges

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge number 10 - Christmas Colours

Hi, today I am sharing my card for this weeks Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge.  This weeks Challenge is to create a card in Christmas Colours

I love the zing of ice blues and whites and the warmth of deep reds, at Christmas but for this challenge I went all traditional and headed for the green/red/gold combination that just screams CHRISTMAS!!

Here's a shot from a different angle - I think all the bling on this card really played havoc with the camera flash!!  Needless to say I am asking Santa for a light box... assuming I'm on the nice list :-) The border round the image is actually gold mirri (not used in ages!) although it looks a bit green in the picture :-(

For once I haven't used any papers - it's all cardstock, but I really like the clean lines that this gives

The image is one of the new Gayle Bond/Scrapbook Sisters Digi Stamps - Holly Lantern - I'm really sorry it's yet another awful photo - there is a candle in there!!

I used a quickie glue pen to adhere embossing powder to the lantern and heated it from the back to stop me scorchin it (note to self - need better quality gold embossing powder - this is some that I bought when I first started crafting and it never melts properly!), then coloured the leaves, berries and candle with copics, before adding glossy accents.  Once it had dried I cut it out, then stuck it on cream CS that I had embossed with my brick Tim Holtz embossing folder and dabbed with Antique Linen distress inks

Supplies:
From Scrapbook Sisters: Green and Red Bazzill; Gold Mirri Card; Holly Lantern Digi Stamp; Glossy Accents; Copics; Antique Linen Distress Ink; Gold Ribbon
Other: Cream CS; Prima flowers/stemens; Gold Gems; Tim Holtz Embossing Folder; Gold Embossing Powder

Hope you like it, more tomorrow

Totally Ladybug Tuesday - Challenge 2 - Anita's Challenge: Ribbons

Good Morning!!

This week at the Ladybug Crafts Ink Challenge Blog we have been challenged by the lovely Anita to use Ribbon on our project, now I don't know about you but I adore ribbon so this was my kinda challenge :-)

Here's my card

After yet another hectic week at work I needed to de-stress so I have distressed my papers - it really is quite calming!!  They are by My Mind's Eye, and I love them!!

I used Winestool Nikki, and coloured her with Copics, added stickles to her shoes and the bubbles coming out of her glass which has got a coat of glossy accents, she's got red and clear gems as jewellery :-), and the edges are sponged with some distress inks

I've used three ribbons on this card - a satin, a lace and a fancy black ribbon.  I couldn't resist using a pewter coloured ribbon slider and heart that have been in my stash for ages!!

Supplies:
Stamps - Winestool Nikki, Sentimental Numbers, both Ladybug Crafts Ink
Cream and Black CS, MME Papers; Flowers - Wild Orchid Crafts
Raw Silk Pearls; Ribbon Slider; Heart charm; Black Fancy Ribbon, Mink Lace and Camel satin ribbons all from stash.  Stickles; Glossy Accents; Antique Linen Distress Ink; Tuxedo Black Momento; Copics

I hope you have time to check out what the rest of the DT have done for this challenge, and I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!!

Thanks for stopping by

P.S.  Please can I enter these challenges - thank you!!

Blue Christmas

Afternoon, thought I would share this card with you today - I'm off work as my little one was not well enough to go to nursery today - nothing serious though and I'm hoping he'll be OK enough to go tomorrow.

I made this card during the brief moment of peace when he crashed out on the sofa :-)

I used the sketch from this weeks Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, and took the opportunity to colour up one of my LOTV images - she looks too cute in blue :-)

I hope you are sitting down, but I actually used my Cricut to cut the snowflakes and the scalloped square - I really must get a new cutting mat and actually use it more (I am ashamed to say it was a touch dusty!!) but managed to use enough Herma to hold the CS still to do these!!

I'd also like to enter these challenges

Supplies:
Bazzill White Bling & Blue; Papers - ??? Sorry!!; Organza Ribbon; Prima Gems; Snowflake Charm; Image - All Wrapped Up, LOTV; Glamour Dust; Copics; Diamond Dust
Hope you like it!  Thanks for stopping by
