Camping was OK!!!

Hello!!

Just a short post to say that the camping trip was OK, and that HB didn't blow my craft budget at the car show (Southern Mini Days at Bewl Water) either!!  It was flipping cold at night though which is so not right for August - HB went mad when he spotted me loading not just sleeping bags but blankets into the car, but I think he changed his mind around 3am on the first night when we woke up freezing cold. LOL... he also laughed at me packing waterproofs, and didn't take his, something which he regretted around 9.30 this morning when the heavens opened.  It only lasted about an hour or so though and I had taken a brolly so we were all dry enough, and the sun came out and it was a lovely day.

We got a few pictures but I think this one is my favourite, check out the ickle caravan this lady uses as a tea room!!

Of course I had to test the cakes and they were scrumptious!!  I think the kids enjoyed themselves too - although the youngest only came on Saturday as he is a bit too small to go camping, and he is a little wotsit for going to bed and staying there!!

My eldest and I took the Mini out on the Saturday with about 70 or so others for a little drive, and there were so many people out of their houses waving... some of the cars were really rare ones and most that were there were in beautiful condition.  HB wasn't disappointed with his in comparison to others, although I'm not surprised as he does fuss over it!!

This is a pic of me and my son, not that you can see either of us!  And yes, the car is wet... this car is NEVER driven if it's raining!!  I had to dry it all off with one of his special cloths when we got back, LOL :-D

Seriously though I am really proud of him -this was it shortly after we got it in 2009 - we jetwashed it and most of the paint came off!!  This picture was taken after he'd set too intentionally removing the rest of it!!

I don't think he'll ever actually finish it, but he's happy tinkering!!

I have a sneaking feeling that this may not be our only car related weekend as something was mentioned in passing tonight. I'll let you know what else he has planned for us when I'm told :-D

Have a great week, hopefully back to crafty stuff tomorrow

Inflatable...

Hello!!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend.  Fingers croosed this post goes live as I'm still away (at least I should be, assuming it's not rained too much and I've abandoned the idea of camping!!)

We'll be back later today and then I'm back to work after two weeks off, I'm NOT looking forward to that at all!!

I've had this Mo Manning image for a while but not inked him up, no idea why as he's really sweet, and totally reminds me of my two!!  I kept it simple and used some MME papers and some red Bazzill with a Kraft card blank

Isn't he sweet!!

I ummed and ahhed over if to GA the inflatable crocodile/aligator but didn't, I think I made the right choice!!

Enjoy your day, hopefully I have survived sleeping under canvas and all will be back to normal tomorrow :-D

Not a Mini, but...

Hello!!

Fingers crossed this post goes live as it's supposed to!  Hopefully it will as I should be camping as HB has persuaded me to go with him to a car show.  Actually at this point I may well be being used to haggle with traders over the price of what he wants, as I seem to be able to negotiate a better price than he can, LOL :-D

For today's post I should have coloured up one a Mini image by Gayle - available from Scrabook Sisters here - but I didn't which was silly, so all I have to show you today is a card I made for my BIL and SIL to give to their BIL (are you lost yet... I am!!)  He's into VW's and I had this image from Squidgi Digi already coloured up and SIL spotted it and asked me to make a card for her.    Hope that's OK, after all they are both classic cars :-D

As it's for a man I kept it simple but added his name to the numberplate.  I thought these Dream Street papers worked really well as they kind of look like the sort of thing you used to get on camper interiors around this time :-)

You can't see that well in the picture, but I cut out the bit in the pop out roof and added some acetate behind it, should have made a little pair of curtains now I think about it!!  There is glossy accents on the bumper, number plate and his eyes, and two coats on the lights and indicators.

The sentiment is from LCI, where a buy one get one half price is still on, don't miss it, or the free international shipping!!

Thanks for looking, hopefully there will be another post tomorrow

Willing on the sunshine :-)

Hello!!
I'm keeping this short and sweet as I just typed this post, then I don't know what I did but it went..... AHHHHHH!!!!
Anyway, I think we are pretty much packed up for this weekend - HB is dragging me camping (not good, I don't do camping) at a car show, and I'm not convinced yet that I want to go.  Fingers crossed that it doesn't rain or I think I'll be home.  We are taking the Mini and I am taking everything else in the estate car - well four of you can't get in a Mini with all the camping stuff as well!!  It's only about an hour or so's drive away from where we live, so not too far to go

In what may turn out to be a fruitless attempt to will on the sun I've gone all bright and sunny with both the Echo Park papers and the Paper Shelter image

Please can I enter these challenges

Thanks for looking, fingers crossed I will have time to schedule some posts over the weekend, if not I'll be all back to normal (and back to work... boooo!!!) on Monday

Have a great weekend

Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 46 - Silhouette

Hello!!!

This week the challenge over at Scrapbook Sisters is

Silhouette

I decided to go all old school, traditional, elegant and stylish and this digi stamp designed by the multi talented Gayle seemed absolutely perfect.

I can't decide if this is a Wedding or Anniversary card - I guess it fits either occasion!!

This was the first time I have ever coloured skin in greys - I was thinking old black and white movie here - did it work?!  She is coloured as always with copics and I added some Glamour Dust to her gloves, the bow and ruffle of her dress and her shoes

I used Theresa Collins papers and the postcard is by Echo Park - the placement of the dancers is to cover something very strange that annoyed me - on the postcard it says London circa something or other, when plainly the image is the Eiffel Tower!!  I tied a little Eiffel Tower charm on with some organza ribbon that is threaded through some lace.  The sentiment on the postcard is a Bo Bunny rub on that I have had in my stash for years - amazingly it hadn't dried out and went on just fine :-D  T roughed up the edges of the postcard and dabbed them with some Tattered Rose distress ink

Ladybug Crafts Ink (aka Totally Ladybug Tuesday) Challenge 36 - Favourite Stamp

Hello!!!

Oh my word, what a lovely response to last months challenge over at Ladybugs Crafts Ink Challenge - Summer Birthday's - I had a nightmare picking my top three, got myself all in a tizzy as every card was stunning in it's own right and I wish I could have given everyone a badge :-D

Hasn't time flown though, as it's time for another challenge, and like last month this challenge is running for all of August.  Kerry has chosen the theme of

Favourite Stamp

Now this was really difficult for me because I LOVE them all, and each for a different reason!!  Finally I settled on Bride Nikki, as she is so classy!!

I decided to do a white on white card, and then kicked myself as really struggled to get a decent picture :-(  I hope I finally managed to get a decent enough shot to let you see how gorgeous she is IRL

One thing I noticed as I was taking my pictures was that on the new Marianne Designables cut and emboss folder I used for the large panel, two of the bits that are meant to cut don't - the die bit just isn't there!!  I checked on the website and it's supposed to be, so I'm now in two minds as to what to do, send it back, or keep it!!  How very annoying!!  Mind you, if I hadn't told you there was a fault with it would you have noticed?!?!  Nope, thought not :-D  I thought I was going loopy looking at it!!

As this was WOW, I kept the rest reasonably simple, just some matting and layering, and a MS border punch and some ribbon

P.S.. Don't forget that Kerry has a buy one, get one half price sale on at Ladybug Crafts Ink until the 15th August AND free shipping worldwide... what better excuse do you need to get your hands on these scrummy images :-D

Less is More??

Just a quick post from me

I don't know why but I always worry about entering the Less is More challenge, so fingers crossed this card is suitable as this weeks challenge is to create a CAS card with the theme of Feeling Fruity.  Now my fruit based stamps are a bit thin on the ground, but I did find this one which I hope is acceptable.

I do find these challenges tough as I am normally a more is more kind of girl, LOL :-D
Anyway, I coloured up this Meljens image added glossy accents to the lemon and the jug, cut it out with nesties and inked the edges and matted onto a co-ordimating piece of CS and popped on a Craftwork Cards card blank.  I was going to use a yellow ribbon, but the yellow I have in my ribbon collection was too bright... I know... how is it possible I didn't have exactly the right shade of yellow in all of the four boxes of ribbon, and no reels that worked either...Shocking ROFL :-D

Anyway, I think it's always handy to have cards like these ready to send if you know someone who needs a pick me up

Hope you like it!!

More tomorrow

Sue xx

P.S.  Don't forget there is still time to enter my blog candy - which includes stamps, dies, grungepaper, and more ribbon than you can throw a stick at... except not the right shade of yellow, obviously :-D

20's Cutie

Hello!!

I can't believe I am into the second week of my holiday already!  Where did last week go!  Still I'm nice and relaxed, although the discovery that a swarm of wasps have moved into the loft yesterday was unwelcome - I'm trying to get hold of the pest control man that came and delt with the last swarm we had, I'm not going anywhere near them!!  Thankfully they seem more interested in doing whatever it is that wasps do, I guess they don't turn vicious until later in the year, either way they are not staying!!

Today I have been catching up with the ironing pile, I think I'm winning, but had time to make something inbetween :-D  It may not have been the best thing to do though as the temperatures soared, but it was too hot to go outside especially at lunchtime

Supplies
Image - In The 20's - ThePaper Shelter (she is so adorable!!) Sentiment - Ladybug Crafts Ink
Card/Paper - Papermania Card Blank; Teal CS; Kraft ribbled CS; MME Papers;  Bo Bunny Double Dot
Other - Pearls from Stash; Velvet Lace - LCI
Tools - Marianne Creatables Florish and Flower Die

I'm really pleased with my first attempt at making this tyod of flower using a Marianne Die - you cut three flowers out, and stick them together, not as easy as getting a ready made one out of the box but great for when you have a bit more time or when you don't have the right colour!!  I think I did OK for a first attempt

Please can I enter my card into these challenges

Before I forget, Kerry from Ladybug Crafts Ink has a summer sale on at the moment and until the 15th August the second stamp you buy is HALF PRICE, and there is
FREE WORLD WIDE POSTAGE too!!!

Thanks for looking, Sue xx

Sugar Sweet

Hello!!

Just a quick post then my bed is calling!!

I made a little card today using a Mo Manning image and a sketch from Cute Card Thursday I used some Echo Park papers that I had left over from a recent Scrapbooking Class

I don't know why but I decided to make her candy floss lemon flavoured!!, but added a few touches of Glamour Dust round the outside, just in case she was disappointed :-D
I'd like to enter my card into these challenges please

Thanks for looking, more tomorrow

P.S.  You've still got time to enter my blog candy and win yourself some lovely crafting goodies!!

Harry Potter - the second story

Hello!!

I hope you are enjoying your weekend, we are preparing ourselves for next weekend when we are booked to go away... but... OMG... we are camping... and I am NOT a camping sort of girl anymore (not since I discovered the wonders of hair straighteners at least!!)

This kind of trip therefore needs the level of planning that the military would be proud of ( or that I do when in work, not holiday mode... ), and as such I have a nice list to make me happy and feel secure!!  What happened to the girl that used to be OK with chucking a change of underwear and a few toiletries in a bag and was good to go... oh yeah, I grew up, got married and had kids, LOL :-D

Anyway, today I am sharing the card I made to go with the Harry Potter Bookmark.  I'm really proud of James as he is engrossed in his books, and it is lovely to see him enjoying them, so I wanted to make him a little card, just to let him know, soppy I know!!

I used one of the sketches from Pretty Patterns Sketch 20 - there are 6 really fab sketches to choose from, and they are different to so many that are out there! I even ripped some of the papers - anyone that has seen me in class knows I have a complete adversion to ripping paper!!  I used more of my MME Haunted papers, and a lovely ribbled Kraft CS at the bottom all mounted on a Papermania Kraft card blank.

The Tim Holtz ticket seemed appropriate to go with this card :-D  James was delighted with it and wants to put it in a frame and hang it on his wall, which I suppose is about as big a compliment as I could get!

I coloured up Har Repotter from Bugaboo pretty much the same as for the bookmark, but didn't cut him out this time but added some stickles to the bits coming out of his wand

I'd like to enter my card into these challenges please
