Hi, hope you are all OK and are enjoying the weekend :-)
On Saturday afternoon and evening we had a few friends round to celebrate James' birthday on Monday (no haven't made his card yet - yikes!!) so has been a busy day, and the house is showing the signs of having been inhabited by eight spirited children for 7 hours :-) Friday night I went to Scrapbook Sisters for a shop crop, and predictably didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but had a great night anyway :-)
Following on from the word card I shared in my last post, today I am showing the second card that was ordered by one of my friend at work. All I had to go on was that she was going to be 21 and was girly (easier for me than the non-girly request of the word card!!). As I was leaving the office my colleague mentioned that the recipient collected snow globes and that was all the inspiration I needed to create this little lovely :-)
I used some more of my lovely Echo Park papers, and kept the design fairly simple, but couldn't resist adding some Marianne Creatables and Sizzix swirls, plus some lovely tulle and a pink button. The sentiment made up from my Paula Pascal set. I cut the frame out of grey cs and pink paper with the cricut - much easier than me getting myself in a muddle with my measurements!!
I stamped up Mermaid Nikki and coloured her in with copics. Annoyingly the pink bled out on me ...WHY do I have so much trouble colouring in pink!!, but time was against me and I had to let it go (plus my skin tone is on it's last legs, and I wasn't sure it was up to the job of colouring another image!!) then added stickles to her outfit and glossy accents to her purse, the fish and the bubbles. I stamped her up again and cut out and used as a mask while I smudged blue chalk round the edge, and then went round the image with a blue copic pen.
I then assembled the shaker with foam tape and some micro beads and decorated the inside with the pink paper and a greeting panel with read Happy 21st Birthday (stupidly forgot to take a picture of this though!!). A couple of gems finished it off :-)
My friend at work was delighted with it and it got shown around the office who all loved it too, fingers crossed the recipient will like it!! :-)
I'd like to enter this card for these challenges
Ooh La La Challenge - Pink, Pink and more Pink ( I hope my card is pink enough!)
Totally Stampalicious - 1 ribbon, 2 papers, 3 embellishments (hoping my tulle counts as ribbon and the beads, gems, and button count as the embellishments)
Papertake Weekly Challenge - Anything Goes (I went with the optional extra as my packet of acetate is at least a couple of years old!!)
Fairy Fun Friday - Inspired by a Song (Under the Sea from the Little Mermaid)
Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a great Sunday!!
