I've been a bad blogger...

Firstly an apology for the lack of posts in the last few days, and particularly for the lack of comments on peoples cards, but we've had a mini-crisis (not with the Mini, although that has got to go back down to the engine builder for a little tinker...)

Where shall I start... OK I got it in my head that I was going to spring the whole house, top to bottom , so last Saturday I did James' room - a Herculean task as it turned out - and our room, all cupboards pulled out, beds moved, you name it everything was washed, polished and dusted so it sparkled, rather than the regular dust and vacuum that I normally do - I felt quite happy!!  Then on Wednesday night while the kids were playing and I was waiting for HB to come home I decided to do Sam's room - it's not huge so so should only have taken me an hour at the most... but OMG when I moved his toy box there was these wierd things, at first I thought the little wotsit had been pulling bits off books as they looked like rolled up bits of paper, but as hubby came in we looked closer and to my horror they were moving!!  At first I thought a mouse might have died under the floorboards and they were maggots but we quickly realised they weren't - turns out they are Tapestry moth larvae - yuck!!  There not being any tapestries to eat in my house (LOL) they decided to make do with the carpet.  And then we found more, under his bed and blanket box... and then moving the big furniture downstairs found them behind one of the big bookcases.

I'm going to admit at this point I went a bit OCD and spent the rest of the evening hunting for them and vacuuming like a mad woman!!  HB finally threatened to cut the plug off the hoover at 1.30 in the morning!!  Anyway, we have got to have the entire house treated as once the little blighters get in it's the only way to get them out, and whilst I normally don't like the use of serious chemicals in the home I waited far to long to get my chocolate brown leather sofas and we've been warned they will go for those once they have finished on the carpet... oh and I really don't want to have to wait, still have it treated and then pay for new carpets either!!  LOL!!  The only thing I am grateful for is that they don't eat paper!!  The pest control man that is coming out said that they are normally really rare (just my luck to get a rare moth in my house!!) but he has had loads of calls in the last week as they are starting to hatch out now having been laid last year, so I really urge you to have a look behind that big bulky furniture that you never move - and if you see anything that looks like grains of rice, then you know what it is :-(

As you can imagine I felt awful, but apparently because they hide in the dark under furniture that doesn't get moved I'd never of found them if I hadn't moved that stuff... In the grand scheme of things, what with all that is going on in the world at the moment, not that terrible, but still HORRIBLE though!!

So there you go, that's my excuse :-)  So I have been spending far too long in the company of Mr Dyson, and not enough in the company of Mr Holtz, so I am sharing a card I made for my friend for her birthday the other week - nothing too fancy, but I liked it :-)

I used Dixie Daisy by Kenny K, and some gorgeous paper my Making Memories along with some roses and ribbon from my stash - I know I have done something similar with this paper in the past but it flocked and too lovely to cover up with loads of stuff... plus I was running late and had to get cracking!!  And my mojo is still on holiday so I am seriously struggling at the moment :-(

That's it from me - apologies if you went all squeamish reading this!!

Sue xx

I would like to enter this card into these challenges

{{ugh}} You poor thing, Sue!! When we first moved into our house, we found a room full of tiny dots on the wall. I thought it was mould or something, then I saw them moving - it was newly hatched spiders!!! They didn't reach puberty...

Great card!! Another brilliant job with those KKs!!
