Scrapbook Sisters Card Challenge 18 - Hearts Desire

Hi!!  How is it Wednesday already!!

Hearts Desire

Well after a bit of a think, and realising that none of my stamps featured either Brad Pitt or crafting goodies (not necessarily in that order!!) this is what I came up with

LOL, I just couldn't resist using the gorgeous Shoe Shopping Digi Stamp.  It was my first time colouring this image, and I think for a first go I did OK - not being artistic means I so struggle with light and shade sometimes, but Gayle has made it pretty obvious for even people like me (for whom the art teacher used to look over my shoulder, tut and move on!!)

I cut the ovals on the cricut then wanted to add texture, and hit on the idea of making it look like they were in a window display, so decided to use the Tim Holtz Brick embossing folder - but bother it the oval was too big and I'd already coloured the image, but after a bit of jiggery pokery I managed to get it all embossed - I lightishly rubbed over the cream c/s with a chalk eye and ta-da!  One brick wall :-)

I used a MS punch to punch several borders, then added tulle and lace and stuck this onto the My Mind's Eye papers.  I cut the hearts on the cricut, but after it was all assembled I decided it needed a bit of bling and as the Red CS is the embossed Bazzill added stickles to the raised dots (wish I'd done that before sticking the centre heart on!!), and added gems to the corners.  The sentiment is by Kraftin' Kimmie and came with my Cinderella Stamp, but I thought it was perfect for this card :-)

I don't normally work like this - normally I have a pretty clear idea of what I want the card to look like, but on this occasion I went with the flow and I think it worked - maybe I should be a bit less regimented from now on :-)

Apologies for the awful pics - I took them last night and was impatient and wouldn't wait for all the stickles to dry :-)

Looking forward to seeing how you might interpret this challenge
