Guilt trip

Don't you just love it when kids guilt trip you?

On the way home today my son told me quite a few of the kids in his class took pressies in for the teachers today - last day of school is tomorrow - and had I made them yet?  No, I was intending on buying them each a bottle of wine (after teaching a class of 7/8 year olds for a year I think they more than deserve it...) but to be honest he had a point.  Money is tighter for us as for most people this year than previous years and I am perfectly capable of making something...

OK, back home, what have we got???  Hmmm, there's those glass tealight holders I bought and have never used... and those lovely smelling tealights... they'll do...   right, cardstock, check, papers...  well if I'm going on an economy drive then I might as well go all out and use some of the freebie ones from Creative Cardmaking...

Once I'd figured out my measurements, it was a matter of cut, fold, cut, cut, cut, cut, feed and water hungry child, stick, stick, stick, stamp, stick and done.  OK, so I've edited it a bit, but you get the gist :-).

One (more) thing I am going to try to get hold of is a scoring blade for my Woodware trimmer.  I used Stacey's at the crop the other week and it made things like this sooooo easy as long as you weren't an idiot and remembered to switch the blades to the right one you wanted... not that I did this you understand... oh no  :-)

Anyway, enought of my blah blah blah... here's how they turned out

I've added a bit Stickles to the flowers which are from Wild Orchid Crafts.  The stamp is from one of the little sets by Studio G (I think!), and yet again I am pleasantly surprised by the quality for the price

So there you go, that's it for school for 6 weeks... they aren't anything posh, but they look fine, pity they only contain a candle holder and a tealight - I really hope they don't get too excited!!

I'd like to enter this for the following challenge

That's it from me tonight, more tomorrow
