I'd rather make a card for a man...

Now I really, really, really hate doing sympathy type cards, it's a horrible time and I never am satified with what I do (I'm not gonna say "happy" cos it's never a feeling associated with such a sad time...)  but of course there are times when we all need such a card.  And it just doesn't seem right to buy one - when it's just me being uncomfortable...

Fortunately I don't need one at the moment (and nor do I intend to), but I do like to have one to hand, just in case, that way I can send my love and thoughts should I need to without getting all emotional trying to make it.

I prefer to keep my sympathy cards simple - I just think that there are times to let my creativity go mad and there are times when I need to keep it in check.  Personally when I was on the receiving end, I was more touched that people had bothered to send their love and words of comfort something at all rather than how elaborate it was.

To be honest I'd rather make a card for a man than make these but with the same logic that if you take your umbrella with you it won't rain I'm happy(ish) for them to be sitting in the box...

I do think that the image I've used is lovely - elegant and looks amazing in so many ways - but I've just stamped it with Stone Grey Stazon and not fiddled with it.  Nothing fussy, just something to let someone know I'm thinking of them.  I really need to use some more of this set as I love looking at them, just have no idea 99% of the time what to do with them!

Gosh that's all a bit depressing for a Monday... Sorry!  Something bright and cheerful tomorrow... promise

Evening Sue,tis late even for a night owl like you lol! I Had to make one of these cards recently and boy they take some thinking about! I did in fact bin mine and chose to convey my feelings orally. Having been a recipient of a huge pile of them some years ago,my feelings differ from yours however. I kept them boxed up for several years before burning them on the fire and I must say I felt relieved though a little guilty after. Let's blog happy cards with bright summery greetings tomorrow;) xxx

Well I don't think I would go that far Sue....I am terrible at men cards, can't seem to get any idea's for them, any I have made are pretty basic
As sad as they are, sympathy ones in the design sence are easier for me, I haven't made many myself but when I have I try not to think about the occassion and just try and make a elegant type of card...

Your design is perfect, I have that same stamp set, it's so useful, payed for it's self time over in my house...
